On August 21st, Bio-Gene Technology Ltd debuted its first workshop of the Bio-energetic Metabolism Workshops Tour in the China Pharmaceutical University, Nanjing.
The Cell Energy Metabolism Workshops Tour is organized by Bio-Gene, Luxcel Biosciences, BMG Labtech, China Pharmaceutical University and the Fourth Military Medical University. The main content of the workshop is to exchange idea and share experience in the detection, analysis and application of different cell energy metabolism indexes so as to promote the development of the study of bioenergetics, and bioenergetics related diseases and the drug screening strategy.
Bio-Gene Technology Ltd, the exclusive distributor of Luxcel Biosciences, the prestigious bioenergetics reagents company based in Ireland, and BMG Labtech, the high performance multimode microplate reader manufacturer from Germany, had invited Dr. James Hynes from Luxcel and Dr. Marjan Orban from BMG to share their experience in bioenergetics research.  The combination of Luxcel and BMG has overcome the routine problems in bioenergetics research such as poor data reproducibility, irrelevant physiological oxygen tension, labor intensive workload, limited metabolic parameters and expensive capital instrument investments. With BMG high performance microplate reader and Luxcel kits, researchers can study bioenergetics under relevant physiological oxygen condition (hypoxic), generate multi-parameters (OCR, ECA, ATP, Intra Oxygen, etc.) in a standard SBS plate format with highly reproducible results. 
The last part of the workshop was to conduct various bioenergetics experiments demonstration (OCR, ECA, Intra) with the help of Drs. Hynes and Orban as well as in-house scientist of Bio-Gene Dr QB LIU, analyze the results and share the experimental techniques. Speakers kindly shared a wealth of guidance and experience on various topics and their own research applications. Attendees enjoyed lecture style presentations followed by hands-on application.
