    Bio-energetic Metabolism Workshops Tour had a perfect ending in Xi’an

    On August 25th, 2014, Bio-energetic Metabolism Workshops Tour, organized by Bio-Gene, Luxcel Biosciences, BMG Labtech, China Pharmaceutical University and Fourth Military Medical University, was held successfully in Fourth Military Medical University, Xi’an.
    The speakers of the workshop are Dr. James Hynes, the scientist from Luxcel Biosciences, the prestigious bioenergetics reagents company based in Ireland, and Dr. Qingbo Liu, the product manager of Bio-Gene. In the morning, the two speakers mainly shared the applications of BMG high performance multimode microplate reader and Luxcel kits in the field of bio-energetic metabolism.
    That day afternoon, Dr. James Hynes and Dr. Qingbo Liu worked together to demonstrate bio-energetic metabolism detection experiments (OCR, ECA, Intra) for the participants, analyzed the results and shared the experimental techniques with the attendees. Both teachers and students in Xi’an Fourth Military Medical University showed great interested in this new and user friendly technology. At the end of the workshop, there was a lucky draw for all the participants. Finally, Dr. James Hynes presented “Phosphorescent Oxygen-Sensitive Probes”, the technical guide of bio-energetic metabolism detection written by him and published by Springer, to the lucky draw winner. Then the workshop successfully came to a fruitful ending for everyone.
    BMG high performance multimode microplate reader is from BMG Labtech in German. With the combination of BMG high performance microplate reader and Luxcel kits, researchers can gain important metabolic parameters (OCR, ECAR, Intra Oxygen, ATP, etc.) under relevant physiological oxygen condition (hypoxic) in a standard SBS plate format with highly reproducible results.  The combination of BMG and Luxcel has overcome the shortages which exist on metabolism research systems in the market, such as poor data reproducibility, irrelevant physiological oxygen tension, limited metabolic parameters and expensive capital instrument investments.
