Bio-Gene 2016 MEA Users Workshop held successfully in Hangzhou and Wuhan!
On January 19, 2016, Bio-Gene finished the 2016 MEA Users Workshop in Tongji Medical College of HUST, Wuhan, Hubei province. Then, Bio-Gene conducted the 2nd 2016 MEA Users Workshop in the Second Affiliated hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Hangzhou, on January 21, 2016. The two seminars were both aim at exchange and share the MED64 technologies and applications, which hope to enhance the communication of researchers in the area of nerve electrophysiology in China. Several domestic users of MED64 attended the event and shared their achievements and experience in researching nerve electrophysiology with MED64.
MED64 is a user-friendly research system for multi-channel in-vitro and extracellular nerve electrophysiology research. The whole system includes a set of hardware equipment, consumable and analysis software, which are necessary for in-vitro electrophysiology research. Users can conduct electrophysiology tests for in-vitro materials, which include brain slices, myocardial biopsy and cultured nerve cell, myocardial cell and stem cell. Tested cell or tissue can be cultured on coating materials of electrodes. Extracellular direct adjacent local electric changes can be measured and electrophysiological signals of many cells can be recorded at the same time. MED64 can stimulate and record different sites at the same time and the recording is non-invasive and harmless to cells. The feature makes MED64 suitable for long-term record and duplicate record on the same cultured sample and allows monitoring the long-term evolution of response of drug stimulation.
