On March 3, 2016, Bio-Gene Technology was invited to give a technology seminar titled as “RainDrop, A New Generation Of Digital PCR Liquid Droplets Biopsy Technique” in The Institute of Blood Transfusion, The Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. In this lecture, the speaker, Dr. Alfred Chan, from RainDance, shared the digital droplet PCR technique and its applications in cancer research with researchers.
Raindance Technologies company was founded by science prodigy Jonathan Rothberg, who was also one of 454 Life Sciences (now owned by Roche) and Lon Torrent (now owned by Life Tech) founder. The company's patented technology -RainDrop, can quickly microliter PCR reaction system uniformly prepared to 10 million picoliter-sized droplets of oil in water, to ensure a true single molecule amplification for achieving a real sense of a single molecule amplification.
     This seminar and experimental demonstration were progressing very well, especially the experimental demonstration which achieved very satisfied results, all attended researchers were satisfied with the experimental results, and expressed the willingness to carry out the follow-up cooperation.
