The 2016 National CJD surveillance conference was held successfully in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Railway Hotel on May 5th and 6th, 2016. Bio-Gene Technology attended this surveillance conference as the sole sponsor. The conference invited Professor Zou Wenquan, the Associate Professor of Pathology with tenure and Associate Director of the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine as the speaker. Professor Zou made a wonderful report about Prions in the skin of CJD patients in the conference and introduced the RT- QuIC (Real-Time Quaking Induced Concersion Assay) briefly.  RT- QuIC was a method of rapid detection for prions, it was developed by American scientists Dr. Caughey and Dr. Atarashi in 2008 successfully. This technology can detect prions within 20-48 hours and achieve zero false-positive accuracy, it has got much attention in the field of prion and neurode generative diseases.

    Dr. Su Qingfeng, the engineer of Bio-Gene Technology, made a live demonstration about RT- QuIC with CLARIOstar, a multifunction microplate reader of BMG Labtech, and introduced the basic methods of the instrument’s operation and data’s analysis. The experts of CDC and sentinel hospitals of CJD nationwide expressed strong interesting in our instruments, and the atmosphere of the Q & A session was excellent. This event allowed the representatives of the CDC and the hospitals have more idea of Bio-Gene Technology and our solutions, it also opened the door for future cooperation .
